Right been playing with the images try this.

1. Open up the backing paper you want in adobe acrobat.

2. Using the 'select' or 'snapshot' tool mark off an area of approx half the A4 page and 'copy to clipboard'.

3. Open up a word document and change the margins all to zero and the orientation to 'landscape'.

4. Select 'file' 'paste' and the image will appear in the document, drag the lower right corner till the image fills the page.

You now have an A4 landscape backing paper.

Hope...

A good way to save ink and paper is to print Pics and backing paper on the same sheet. As we often don't need a full sheet of either
First open Publisher, then minimise it.Then open your chosen pics in Adobe ,using the photosnap save them to your clipboard. click on your publisher and paste your pics.then go to the bottom and click on Adobe and choose your paper, Photosnap half a sheet then click once again on to Publisher and paste it on the bottom of your sheet.
Hope you can...

Hi all

Just thought I would say that I have found if you put stuff on clipboard (ie copy for pasting) before opening Word it won't let you paste it into a page. But if you open Word and then copy (or whatever), and then paste it, it normally works!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif...

This technique is not fool proof, its just a way I have found of trying to create landscape papers from a portrait one there will be some pixelation depening on the images used.

When you use the snapshot tool make sure it says 'copied to clipboard' before you try to paste it.

Hope this helps

Sorry but it didn't work for me. Am I doing something wrong. I opened the paper in Adobe Acrobat, took snapshot, box opened saying saved to clipboard (this was automatic). Opened Word, Zero margins. Paste not available. Is my Adobe Acrobat too old it is version 6. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Sharon, I have just tried this tip and my first effort whilst perfect print came out 3 x 4½ inches, so nothing daunted I tried again, this time I remember to alter the margins, and I got a whole landscaped page, good? no............ it's pixelated and therefore unuasable, have you any suggestions to offer please.
