I have some "Heat it up" holographic embossing powder and was disappointed the first time I used it as it seemed dull. I discovered that you have to
heat carefully until it is just melted then move the heat gun sharpish ... it overheats very easily and when it is overheated turns dull and no amount of extra
heating will bring the sparkle back. At one Docrafts demo I went to the demonstrator managed to scorch the card when using it (i've never managed that!).

Holographic powder is great if you colour in some detail with a coloured embossing or versamark pen (e.g. a fairy's wings), then use it.

Also, it's brilliant if you sprinkle some onto triple embossed panels for extra interest.

For regular stamping, especially on pale cards and using detailed stamps, it's not great, but have a play with a few different idea's - it's not
ready for swaps yet.

Hope you see this because the original post was put on...

It might be the wrong type of ink pad is used. Pigment inks I've used for embosing with the holographic powder have come up beautiful, used an old tub if
it this morning (bought 3 years ago) and stil glitters.

I used a Versamark pink ink pad and clear holographic on white card 210 or 230 I think it was. Very pleased with the result. It was a large rose background
stamp, quite a bit of detail.

I have never tried holographic ep, but having some experience with all kinds of embossing powders, I would suggest you use it on solid stamps. If you use it
on line stamps the holographic effect might get lost.
