If she has used Joanna's images to advertise it, she may not even have it yet! She may be awaiting delivery before using it 'for a project', then posting on to the buyer.
I thought you could not use copyrighted images/photos from Joanna's website? Wonder what she/he would do if they had to remove the pictures and substitute their own photos? Has anyone asked for other pictures of the...

Generally. you never really own software, you just pay for the rights to use it. If you then sell the original disc, you lose the rights for usage of the software. THAT is illegal.

That said, Joanna's cds are so beautifully produced, no-one would really want to part with them would they? even the boxes are lovely

Makes a great deal of sense....... and thank heavens you put that on here! My OH makes a working copy of his discs and stores the original in case the copy breaks, corrupts, etc. I thought it was ok and am so glad you have confirmed it. I didn't know that you had to retain the original though so once that e-bayer sells, IF they have made a copy to keep, then they have an illegal copy - shame there isn't a way you can find out!

You can actually make a working copy of a cd for yourself but

You must own and keep the original, if you get rid of or sell the oriiginal then the copy you have is an illegal copy as you no longer own the rights to the original so cant legally use the copied one.

confusing I know but hope it makes sense.

I thought that you could only copy a cd as a backup if you owned the original - so if the fraud office raided her house today she would be covered as she has a backup and the original.

Next week after she has sold the CD, she would have counterfeit goods in her posession and there for it is illegal

I to emailed the seller and was told the same thing as everyone else has been told!!!!!!!, yes a likely story!!!!!!!, they have obviously copied it and are now selling it on.

As far as I'm aware, there is nothing illegal in making a back up copy of a disc for your own personal use. I'm sure Sharon will correct me if I'm wrong though. No reason either that the person may perhaps have installed the disc on their PC and then sell the original........... I'm not condoning what they are doing though.

I think that its not actually legal to copy it for yourself and then sell on the original as for the copying of the wording can Joanna/Sharon get it pulled because its a breach of their interlectual property (or something like that!) I know some of the other major brands sold of ebay so that if a picture or wording of their item is copied from theri website they have them pulled - go sharon do your stuff!!!

Trouble is people buy the CD, copy it for themselves and then sell on the original to get their money back.......... which isn't illegal as far as I know. There are bound to be several more on there over the next few days. Must be very frustrating to Sharon & Joanna though.

OMG!!!!! How can people do such things - its outrageous!!!! Opened it once for a specific project and now selling it on - in less than a day??? Yeah right!!!!! Personally I couldn't bear to part with Joanna's CDs - they even have their own special space on my bookshelves! And just looking at the cases makes me happy :-)

People that do things like this make me mad!!!!
