As we have been having a bit of a moan about the postal service, I thought I would even it up by saying something good about the post people - our postman is
fantastic! Not only is he always cheerful (I often meet him when I am out and about with Will the staffie and he is delivering post) he is sensible - if I am
out he puts parcels through the window, and he never tries to squash envelopes through the letterbox. So a big for someone who is doing his job well!

Our postman is great too. If a package comes and we're not in he not only brings it up and puts it in the greenhouse - he leaves a note in the post box
which is down by the gate to say that there is a parcel left in the greenhouse.

ours is great too, he's a bit of a wimp with tilly but this may be cos she greets him when she's outside on a walk n then tries to whip the letters out
of his hand when she's in the garden, she did actually manage it last wk, she soesn't do the bitey thing (not in her nature at all) but she does so
like to pinch the mail n run off with it!

I agree with the above sentiments, my regular Postie is the very opposite of the relief ones who seem to have no training at all! Being used to good service
makes it very difficult to tollerate the b****rs who have no consideration, or pride in their work.

We live in a small village so the postie knows every-one. If I am out he will go into my back garden and put parcels in the greenhouse. He is very helpful and
never folds large letters to get through the letter box, he alway rings the bell. I know they are supposed to take undelivered parcels back to the sorting
office, instead of leaving "in a safe place" thus avoiding any "lost" parcels, but he doesn't do it for eveybody. He left a parcel for
a lady once, who said...

Our postman Gary is like that. He is such a happy chappie, always chats and loves Snoop. A couple of years ago on my birthday, he had finished his round and a
couple of cards had come in. He realised it must be my birthday and so he took them and brought them to me on his way home. Then during the strikes when
parcels were held up and I was waiting for something important, he went to the parcel depot, found mine and had it sent round to me that day! He never bends
anything and is very careful...

We are very lucky in this village, our postie is always happy and if the weather is very bad, he tells us not to go out in it but just give it to him when he
calls. How good is that. Not sure if they are supposed to do that but I know a lot of people really appreciate it. He has been known to bring some shopping for
an elderly man while he was unable to go out. I hope they never move him to another round.
