I should think not too!!!! What they put that young innocent girl through in her few years with us she wants FLOGGING. I'm sorry if I upset anyone but I feel very bitter about the 'carry-on' that was happening. I know that the "upper crust" can do as they like but it still wasn't on what was happening in the relationship and Diana was just used to breed "Heirs to the throne". I don't think in my life time we will ever know the truth about what happened and why on that night 10 years ago! Hopefully she's at peace with her Dodi. chrisb

When she said the princes had invited her, I felt that they HAD to, after all she is married to their father, and I was angry. It does take two for an affair, and Charles just hasn't got the backbone to stand up to his father, and I think that was the problem all along, he should have married Camilla in the first place, not cause all this trouble for Diana. I don't suppose we will ever know the true story. I just feel sorry for the boys - ten years on and still no inquest. No-one else would have to see a picture of their dead Mother plastered all over the news for years. It must be very upsetting for them, and I think they are coping very well. It's about time there was a proper inquest with no cover up - pigs might fly. Coralie

I am sure that Diana could have been a problem at times but she was young, inexperienced and used for breeding an heir and spare. I am a royalist but I think they treated her shamefully, I still cannot watch her without it bringing either a lump to my throat or tears. God rest her. Thankfully "her boys" have a lot of her genes in them which brings hope to us all for our next generation of the "Royals" I know that the film "The Queen" is only fiction but if you watch it and its on TV next week, you can certainly imagine them behaving as they are portrayed in the film.

Posts: 6576 (27/08/2007 09:49:59) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Can I just say first of all I loved Diana as much as everyone else on the planet and she will never be forgotten, I'm not really fond of Camilla but feel she'll never get it right in the eyes of the public - damned if she does damned if she doesn't type thing. The Princes seem to have accepted Camilla so why can't we. People have to move on when a beloved family member dies, family dynamics change. The boys see how happy their father is with his wife and this probably has helped them accept her as part of their family. A member of my family whom I love very much has just separated from his partner, they have a wee girl, he has not got anyone else at the moment but if he did and she was the cause of the split I'd be really angry and probably not want to accept her at first, I love his ex and daughter so much and wouldn't want to have much to do with new girl. But if ten years down the line he was still with her I would like to think we as a family would accept her as the person he loved. As I said before things change over time. We read the papers, watch tv and take it all in, we don't know what it's like to be in any of their shoes. Maybe the boys genuinely wanted her to be there, maybe they didn't - we'll never know. What I do know is that there will be many people at the service who did the dirty on Diana when she was alive, many of them from the palace if stories of the time are to believed. Anyway I'll jump off the soapbox. Sorry for rambling on Dee x

My bet is that Camilla was advised not to go because there is still a lot of strong feeling about the situation (see above, and me too) and there would be a real risk of public reaction if she did attend. Think about the bread rolls incident after Diana's death. I'm not saying there'd be a repeat at the memorial service but if anything did happen it would be awful.

As Dee said things change over time. I had one brother, my husband has one brother - we have 3 sister-in-laws each. When our respective parents died - all the wives attended the funerals. Recently we had christening of my youngest granddaughter - two of my brother's wives and families attended (the 3rd lives on other side of the world) - they all get on well and now the half-siblings are getting to know each other and my great nephews and nieces are all in touch with other cousins and Uncles and aunts by MSN. I am glad they all get on - I would be heartbroken to lose contact with them. So it does cut both ways. Mags

He HAD to marry someone, as before mentioned for an heir, but it's always been public knowledge that he still loved Camilla. I think she has been the perfect "lady" through all the horrible press and accusations, never opening her mouth or showing any distaste for what's been said. I also liked Diana, but she admitted openly that she'd been having affairs, and no, none of us know what really happened. they would never allow her to marry anyone, especially someone of the Muslim faith, because of her boys. It brings back very sad memories for me, it's also the 10th anniversary of my husband passing, they weren't the only family to have lost someone that year! Jacqui x

I think perhaps Camilla has at last made the right decision in not attending and as someone pointed out earlier there will be others attending who worked against Diana namely her own brother who did nothing to help her when she was alive but went on to make himself a fortune from her death and still is just my personal oppinion hugs maggiemay

It takes more than one to have an affair, Diana had hers and Charles had his. He at least was consistant and in love and I think he always did love Camilla but was pushed by Royal protocol to marry a young bride. I watched when Charles married Camilla and the love in his eyes was so evident. I just wish the country would leave them alone to live their lives and not punish them forever for being in love and doing something that happens up and down the country every day. I am not asking for an argument on this, it is just my feelings.

People get divorced all the time. I don't mean anyone on the forum, but I often felt that the ones who shouted loudest, journalists and so on, did not have deeply held beliefs about divorce and affairs. Alison

I think not.. This has nothing to do with like or dislike of either party. I personally think an inocent was taken for a purpose and I really believe Diana thought she loved Charles and he loved her back - looking through rose coloured spectacles, I suppose. It must have been hard for her to discover C and C were still seeing each other, no wander she went elsewhere. Charles was always my least favourite royal anyway but obviously he is William and Harry's father and I think they are fine young men. Again, this is my humble opinion and respect that others may feel differently. San x

William & Harry are happy with her of that I am glad. But again she is not my cup of tea and it is correct that she should not attend. The Royals have always had their affairs it is well documented. Also as previously said there was and is an awful lot goes on behind closed doors in the "firm" as Diana called it. Anyone who attends and knows they did wrong should have their own conscious to do with, that's if they have one of course. We mere subjects will never know the truth in our lifetime.
