Posts: 2829 (14/09/2007 16:24:16) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None Had blood tests taken yesterday,she agreed that docs shouldnt put everything down to the menopause anyway ..today....a phonecall from receptionist at surgery....blood tests are through few abnormalities, dont worry or panic over this,doc will see you on the earliest app available.....sept 27th hmmmm alright them sayng dont worry,but you do dont you?? had enough of feeling so ill Trying to join in girls but i feeling a bit sorry for myself at mo,in so much pain,dont know why,hardly eating as i feel sick or dizzy and not sleeping much at night due to this blooming pain im in Anyone not a shot gun ready to put me down????? rofl Hugs to anyone else feeling poorly today wendy xxxxxxxxxx ps sorry for the moan sheenies,i want to be making cards and not even got energy for that today and i know that there are a lot of people a lot worst off than me

I'm so sorry that you're feeling so poorly - could you not ring back and insist on an earlier appointment, or even an emergency one? I've found that many GPs don't take the menopause or general 'women's problems' seriously and sometimes it takes a lot of assertion to get results - ridiculous I know, but unfortunately true. They must have something earlier - try ringing up as an emergency! Liz

There can't be too much to worry about if they haven't called you back in straight away. You will still worry of course but hopefully it is something minor that can be sorted easily for you. Having said that, if you are in pain then I would insist on an emergency appointment anyway. They can't leave you like that. Hope you feel better soon. C xx

Sept. 27th doesn't sound an acceptable appt. date. My OH is a GP and he wouldn't be able to get away with this. If you're worried I would go and ask very firmly for an appointment before this date. Have you tried taking some vitamin supplements for menopausal women? If you're a bit run down too, it might help. Lots of the menopausal symptoms can be eased by medication too. I hope you feel better soon and I'm sending you sympathetic hugs and wishes. Love Squibbs

Posts: 2829 (14/09/2007 17:03:01) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Every single part in my body hurts And yes she knows that,thats why she had the blood tests taken as she is not sure that it is menopause symptons you know when you got flu and any slightest movement you make hurts? like a sharp pain go through you and you shiver with the cold? well thats what i am like at moment plus feeling sick dizzy and tired so could be to do with my back.....menopause or something entirely differant.....will fone docs on monday and see if i can get an earlier appointment,but i know yesterday she did say see me in 10 days wendy..as she put me on higher dose of tablets that i am on to see if that helps me ive sat and cried so many times in last few days where its so painfull feels a right baby....Colin bless him is being so good,there he is in pain with his neck shoulder and hands,coming home cooking a meal and doing things for me bless him....if thats not love i dont know what is hey sheenies thanks for your hugs,support and being so caring wendy xxx

My local surgery allows you to book appointments on their website. Can you see if your surgery has this facility and book yourself in earlier? If you are in this much pain maybe you should think about going to the A&E to get it sorted out. Also, if you are as poorly as it sounds you should get the lazy bugger to come out to you. Pain really does wear you down quickly I know from experience. Sending you a big hug and hoping you are soon feeling better. Shoestring x

Now i have IBS so i feel right sorry for myself. I have also been through and finished Menopause, which was bloody awful!! I started this at 41yrs of age........I did manage to get through it without medication, but lots of people advised health shop for relief..... Hope you get sorted soon Hugs Denisexx

Obviously worry during that time won't make you any better. I went to a Specialist Hospital in London and got back to a call from the GP's surgery saying the GP had had a letter from the Podiatrist for me and that I had to be seen immediately. I managed to get an appointment for yesterday. Sadly it didn't got to plan as we thought it might be my sleeping tablet causing me problems with pain and hyper sensitivity with my toes since I had the toe nails removed three months ago. She says if it was that I'd have a one-off reaction. Instead I had to go for loads and loads and loads of blood tests this morning (and she hurt!!) and I have to go and see the Practice Nurse next Tuesday to check whether my pain/discomfort is down to CFS/ME or asthma and nothing else. I will then be seeing the doctor again the following. My GP is very good in that if she sends you for bloods/urine tests she always makes you go back 2 weeks later for the result, good or bad. Obviously it could be something quite simple that is causing you problems. I can an awful time in 2005 as I was in hospital for 7 weeks, 6 weeks being treated for something I didn't have. When I came out of hospital the Neurologist I saw twice said roughly "blow your nose and get on with it" whereas my GP was brilliant. I have so many symptoms it was like a hornet's nest for her: chronic pain, chronic tiredness, problems swallowing, problems with the focusing and tracking of my eyes and many other little things but the GP persisted. She knew what she thought I had and this was eventually confirmed at King's in London in March 2006 that I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)/ME. Fingers crossed that you manage to get an earlier appointment and that the GP can get you sorted. It's horrible feeling rough and in pain all the time but if you have a GP who is persistent an answer will come to light Best wishes Kym

I had to do that a while ago, and it is amazing how different you get treated. In fact I wrote a letter stating what was wrong with the system, basically, and gave it to the sec. she read it and said I had been poorly treated and showed it to the doctor. Everything happened so fast after that ,you see they have to reply to anything written, A phone call or to talk to a receptionist is no good they forget about you once the conversation is finished. Hope you feel better soon, but DO take this further for your own good

If I were you I would ring for an earlier appointment and if they say they haven't got one ask for a home visit as you feel so ill. They may miraculously find you an appointment. Like others are saying I would definately phone back. I work in a clinic in the local hospital which is self referring and we always keep appointments for emergencies. If someone phones and explains their situation if it sounds like they need to be seen then they are always given an appointment even if they are squeezed in at the end of a clinic - so definately phone and try speak to someone else. Good luck and hope you get things moving
