Went to see doctor this morning and as they thought I have cancer in both breasts and have advised a double masectomy. I am booked in for the 22nd April. The
team thought it was the best way forward to give me the best chance as I am so young ! (makes me feel better at 51). They were fantastic and explained
everything and answered my questions. Obviously very frightened but at least there is something they can do.

I'm so sorry to hear your news Janet, but on a positive note, they have found it and are moving quickly which is always a positive sign in my opinion. You
need to try and stay positive and if you are strugging then I will stay positive for you.

Hi Janet - You must be in a state of shock at the moment, but at least they can operate and remove the cancer (one advantage to being female, I guess!). Take
heart in the fact that my Mum had a radical mastectomy many years ago, and she is now almost 85 years old and still going strong.

Hope all goes well with your op - will be thinking about you. A friend of mine very recently discovered a lump and had a masectomy - she's having radiotherapy at the moment, but she's in good spirits which is, I believe, half the battle! Hugs Christine |
