The story seems to be going from bad to worse, poor little kid. I missed the documentary too.

Well I did find it strange that her real grandmother (the mothers own mother) thought shannon should live with her real father

Will we ever know the full story - it speaks volumes when a child this young prefers the company of a cat to that of her mother. Poor little thing - I hope
she's able to stay with her foster family and grow up into a happy emotionally stable young woman.
Such an emotive subject and I normally prefer to steer clear of potentially difficult topics but I do worry about her. Donna X |

something strange. i wonder if she wasnt kidnapped but did run away and his uncle was hiding her. i dont know, something is not right with the family. the
police seem to be finding more and more things aboit the family.

Well, I don't normally speak about things of this nature either, but on this occasion,I think it was money making scam . They thought they would make a lot
of money from papers etc ,which theres no doubt they did. But I hope Shannon gets a chance to have a nice life after all she has been through recently. Hugs

I always thought there was something dodgy from the beginning but couldn't put a finger on it. I hope the truth eventually comes out. I always felt it was

Rita, after she was found, I thought EXACTLY the same as you. After all the outpouring of money with funds raised etc reported in the
media, for little Maddie, I thought this was a concoction by this family to get the money rolling in too. She wasn't being "held" in the bed,
she was"hiding" along with the "kidnapper". Apparently he has tried to slit his wrists now, and it made me wonder, is he scared of being
found out about what was really going on? or can't he live with the actions? As soon as she wasn't returned to her Mum, surely that must have set all
the alarm bells ringing? I would be going ballistic if it was my daughter that had gone missing , but she was on the telly smirking and kissing the
"boyfriend!!"
Now the Mum has been arrested as well! Seems to me ALL her children would be better off elsewhere! (well it seems they ARE all elsewhere!) These people have just no idea what sort of impact this will have on this little girl. I am totally gobsmacked at some peoples actions!! Jacqui x |

There was a rumour from the start that this was a scam to sell their story to the media and make some cash. No matter how badly off you are, who on this earth
would use their own young daughter to do this?? I think this family have got their come uppance and I hope that this young girl, if the case against the
family is true, is removed from them and given a chance of a new life.

I thought there was something not quite right from the very beginning when her mum left it so long before contacting the police - surely school finishes at
what 3.30 - 4 - and then Shannon not being returned home as soon as she was found.
