I have just bought the whackiest prezzie ever for my hubbie, I never know what to get him, so today I bought him a plot of land in Jura, along with a title of
Laird.... I am going to present this to him when we go to Barcelona in two weeks time, courtesy of my children for our silver wedding.........No I am not a
millionaire the piece of land is.......... one square foot....well to tell the truth I bought two feet cuz I fancied the title of lady...... well I'm not
having him lording over it.... pardon the pun..... Anyway there is some loophole in Scottish law that allows us to do this.... crazy but true....it's a bit
of fun and the certificate will take pride of place in the loo.
Luv Lady Carol Lonie of Jura. Sorry it's going to my head already, but it does sound impressive......Not........ .![]()

What a daft idea. It's daft enough for me to think about it for my Dads 80th birthday pressie next month. I know that he and his wife would delight in
being titled. They love that sort of thing. Landed gentry in the family. Boy, how I would be going up in the world.!

What a great whacky idea!
Wish I had known about that when my mum was alive - she was always going on about her Scottish roots and I have gone back to the late 1700s and not found them! (all my cousins and second and third cousins all had the scottish ancestry drummed into them and we have found nowt - although presumably there is some truth in it somewhere!) I could have rectified that an bought a plot of land!

Love that idea - what a novel gift. Don't blame you for getting the plot for her ladyship - good on you.
Tell me - does the title pass on to children? Donna X |

My daughter did the same for my husband for Christmas. His piece of land is up in Argyle, seems there will be loads of lords and ladies in Scotland then!
