Just wanted to wish the smoke quitters good luck today. How are you all doing?
When I gave up I cut up carrots and celery into cigarette shaped sticks and when I would usually go outside for a smoke, I still took the 2 minutes and went outside and nibbled on the sticks instead. I found that taking the break and walking about a bit actually reduced some of the tension you feel in that first week. I did get a few comments like - are you smoking a carrot? well i am still cutting back like the doctor said gone from 40 a day to 9 yesterday in 2 days but a shocking thing happened today i forgot t had my ciggs in my
dressing gown pocket this morning and put it in the washing machine so then thought oh well i will just go with out went all day on one cigg it got to 4.30 and
was going out of my mind so i just had to get one cigg from my neighbour so thats good i have only had 2 today i know i had to give in today but the doctor
said cut down then finsh so i think i am pretty good today even if i am in a bad mood

Brilliant Linda, to go from 40 to just 2..... what an achievement ....Go girl Go.....
I have just had my first smoke free day, yesterday afternoon I had to sit on my hands, I asked my daughter Amanda if she had chopped up my last ciggy, at that time she hadn't....... but I thought no!!!! I will make a card, looked at my cds and picked out the Joannas, The Cardmakers Year, picked an image from April, and made my card.......... heres to the next 24 hours. Thanks Tina for your support. Day 2.... smoke free..... I had a few sticky moments yesterday but got throught them...

went up one today smoked 3 had a bit of a shock found out a friend who i had not seen for a while had died at christmas no one told me

another £10+ you've saved today.

10 days now since my last ciggy, and I am feeling quite good about it, I am still getting the urge to have one, but I try to think of other things till it
passes, and thankfully it does, so keep up the good work all who have stopped or has cut right back.
