I find dble sided tape always messes me up and I stick it in the wrong position .
I have sometimes used Uhu sticks (sorry are we allowed to mention brand names?) but just wondered having messed up a card yet again using tape .
.

What do you stick with |

If you are matting and layering or covering a card with paper first what do you use to stick it down ? On the demos all goes well but

I usually use glue for the base paper, like you I would never get it right with tape lol. Like to be able to move it a bit just in case. Always impressed when
I see people like Joanna putting everything on with the double sided stuff!

Dst without a doubt. Try just peeling back a little of each strip and place it then peel off the rest of the tape. It gives you a better chance of lining it
up. HTH

I am hooked on using the collall photo glue, marvelous stuff, plus you have the ability to move things around before it sticks firm. I also use the tape
dispenser pens.

I do like the double sided tape, but I've also used glue sticks, sticky dots and photo glue, which is repositionable.

I always use double sided tape and use the method you so often she Wendy Stenton using - pull back a couple of cm`s of the backing and fold at an angle - do
this on all 4 corners and then place the topper or paper down - make sure it`s straight - adjust if you`re not happy with it as it`s not fully stuck down at
this stage and then pull the tape backing off

I'm with Tina and the collall photo glue. Although my sticky dots are blooming handy if you get curling corners.

It depends what is to hand, I usually use dst or photo glue, but have used pva or the tape pens.

Thanks for all your replies , I like the idea of folding back part of the DS tape and also glue dots for corners and lining up with a straight line . I find
now with Maturity ie old age in my case I have lost my "straight "eye and even with a sewing machine I don't sew straight any more .

I have tried most things but do like to reposition and I find photo glue allows me to do that very easily. So stick with that now.

Definitely photo glue for me!!!
Even if I do the trick with the DST of peeling back the corners I still get it wonky! I find PVA too wet and if it seems out from under the paper you can't remove it as easily as you can with the photoglue. I always seem to end up with wrinkled paper when I used PVA. Maybe that just me. It was when I was just learning. I found the sticking thing one of the most complicated things. Got to the stage where i just tried and if it didn't work out, move on to something else. I started using photoglue after a whole batch of my Christmas cards were wonky and I just couldn't bear it any longer. I just don't do straight without it!!! Goog luck and enjoy Love Jill x |

DST always - started off with a glue stick and stopped that one when I went round to a relatives house one Christmas and saw that everything I'd stuck had
become unstuck! I realised that probably every one of those cards that year fell apart on my friends and relatives. How embarrassing.
I use Wendy's peel back technique - I don't forget too often having made too many mistakes. Jxx |
