business cd? |

Hi everyone, just wondered if any of you had ever come across a cd which could be used to store card pictures, birthday information,
sales etc, which could be used to keep track of my cards. I remember seeing a cd a few years back on Ideal World but can't trace it now. Any suggestions?
I'm sure there are computer stars out there who could set up a programme themselves but I'm not one of them

Sorry I can't help you Pinky, but it sounds like a good idea. Maybe one of the sheenies who are more into PC technology can help you out. Good luck with
it.
Luv Sheila xx Sorry Pinky I didn't realise you were new...so a very warm welcome to a lovely forum.

I scan or photograph my cards & then save them to a cd, is this the kind of thing you mean? I guess anyone who has excel could set up a form for birthdays etc on & save this info. Or you could use a word document using a table and /or columns.

yes there is, I think it's CRAFTY IDEAS. I bought it, ooh! about 3 years ago. Bloomin' nightmare, don't waste your money!
You can list everything in it, magazines, special features, your cds etc(supposedly!!!). If anyone got their head around it, they were a bloomin' site
better than me. I uploaded some stuff to the programme, saved it, and never ever found it again!! Jacqui xx

Thanks for the help ladies. Yes I thought it was from Crafty Ideas and emailed them but they said it wasn't theirs and couldnt help! I do store some cards picies in my photobucket but I am getting repeated orders on a yearly basis and have a terrible memory. Wouldn't like to repeat a card to the same person!

I think you could easily do something similar in a word document. Import your card pics to a new document and insert a text box next to it and put in the
necessary information OR code/number each card and save to CD and then in Excell put the information relating/cross referenced to that code/number. As someone
else said you could also create a table in a word document for the information. All can then be saved to a CD with the relevant cards on it.

I think the CD you mean is called The Crafty Organiser. I have it here in my hand, bought it years ago from Ideal World. Can't say I have used it much,
as Jacqui Q says it is a bit of a nightmare, and very basic.
The website on the back of the CD is www.createITtoday.co.uk, but I haven't checked to see if they are still around. Sue |

oh yes! that's the one. When I bought it, I had tons of magazines, and when she demoed it on the tv, it was to show you how to save
features from a particular magazine, for easy reference. You put in all the info, including the author, what magazine date and so on and so forth. It took me
bloomin' hours, then I clicked onto check the bits I'd put in, and couldn't find them at all.
My cds, I put all into excell, and colour coded them, and then sorted those into alphabetical order. My cards I always save in a folder in my Docs, then I transferred them into Picturetrail. After I did that I then just put them in a folder with PIC trail DONE, and uploaded to a cd. I have been making cards for one set of families for 5 years now, and I don't THINK I've repeated any! Good luck x ps the magazine bits I wanted, I just cut out and then all the mags went to the OAPs home near where I live. So much easier!! also I have my order book, and write down the different themes that customers want. When I get the same orders the following year, I refer back to make sure I haven't repeated anything, I start a new book every January, so every month is easy to find. |
