Sadly the boxes had been stolen Last Saturday along with boxes from 4 more local shops! How can any one steal collection boxes like this. They know all the money is for very worthy causes? The shop often has collection boxes for various causes but is now having a re think because its just too upsetting when this happens! Margaret

Sad we have to resort to things like that but at least these leeches wouldn't get away with anything Maureen

Whats really upset me is the thought that it could have been a crafter who did this horrible deed! I was going to say fellow crafter but I wouldnt want to associate myself with them!

His trailer was stolen in the last week and now he cannot continue his fundraising. Honestly you can only wish a pox on the vermin who stoop so low. Maureen

Posts: 9482 (15/11/2007 00:21:02) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I watched a programme late last night about a group of young people making a visit to Aushwitz. The experience made them think of the suffering of mankind generally as well as in that specific place and I have been thinking that perhaps more young people should be given the opportunity to have a similiar experience, perhaps by visiting WW1 battlefields or places like Anne Frank's home, as it seems that successive generations are becoming so detached from history that the lessons learnt then are being lost. Perhaps it takes the enormity of a world war to bring the message home? Or maybe I'm being unrealistic to expect every human being to respect every other one? There's no easy answer - society seems to harbour such huge & complex problems doesn't it, but instilling an understanding of how inhuman humanity can be would help future generations along the right track I think. Oops, sorry for going on a bit Lavender XX

Every 3rd pupil at the High School here have the opportunity to visit WW1 Battlefields, this year 132 kids went. Both my sons have been and said it's the best holiday they've ever had. All the kids come back "changed" from the trip. Jayne Nesterenko had some of her stuff pinched on Saturday whilst she was away for lunch!!! Carol
