I used to own a baby and wool shop. Our collection boxes were chained to a stand next to the counter but they still disappeared. Havent a clue how the
thieves managed it.

I totally agree with the idea of national service, whether it be the forces for those who need discipline (something which doesn't seem to be allowed these
days)...or social service work for those who just need a direction and sense of community. If youngster already have a direction, be it work, college (where
they are actually working, not just killing time) or some sort of training scheme then they could be excused from the national service idea, but I think it
would go a long way to helping get our society back on track.
I think things started going down hill when policemen were told they could no longer give kids a clip round the ear, these days the youngster would start child abuse proceedings at the slightest sign of that....plus if the police take youngsters home for causing trouble in the community it seems so many parents would give the child a pat on the back, and abuse the policeman. Oh dear, I have gone off on a rant....sorry. I know there are many good people out there, but unfortunately the bad element are the ones that get noticed...
