My favourite is Greg Lake I Believe In Father Christmas in joint position with The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl Fairytale of New York. Favorite carol is Ding Dong
Merrily on High because its a happy song and you get to do the bit where you sing the chorus quietly and then you belt it out for the last bit! Great fun after
a few drinks before midnight mass when everyone is merry!

I have to agree with Harmony.... Lonely This Christmas by Mud. Great song. I also love O Holy Night and especially like the versions by Celine Dion and Il
Divo. I've been listening to all the Christmas tracks on my phone this past week and have been called 'very sad'!!

My favourite is a Spaceman Came Travelling followed closely by Carol of the Children and In The Bleak Midwinter. There's just so many beautiful songs and
carols, how to choose? The only two I don't like are Santa Baby and O Holy Night.

I have lots of faves but today I was in York for the St Nicholas Fayre and there was one particular street musician who I was drawn to. He played an electric
violin and the music was fantastic. I put some money in his box and then got stopped in my tracks by the way he cleverly slipped a Carol into his music. It was
In the Deep Mid Winter, one of my all time faves. I got a lump in my throat, my OH noticed and bought one of the musician's CDs. No carols on it but good
listening.

C is for the candles lit upon the Christmas tree
H is for the happiness of all the family R is for the reindeer prancing by the window pane I is for the icing on the cake as sweet as sugar cane. S is for the stocking, on the chimney wall T is for the toys beneath the tree so tall M is for the mistletoe where everyone is kissed A is for the Angels that make up the Christmas list and S is for dear santa, who makes every kid his pet so be good and he'll bring you everything in The Christmas Alphabet. I did this and replaced the words with JOANNA SHEEN, for the forum birthday last week xx |

I'm like Millie Sue - I like lots - but for me the best is still the original Band Aid 'Do they know its Christmas' closely followed by 'All I
want for Christmas is you' Mariah Carey - Darlene Love's 'All alone on Christmas' & Tom Jones & Cerys Matthews 'Baby its cold
outside'. What really makes it feel like Christmas - is when the Salvation Army Band play to the shoppers in Southport. That's wonderful.

I don't think there are any that I don't like. We always get Wham & Slade in the supermarket, and it sort of feels as if
Christmas has arrived!! Jacqui x

but christmas aint christmas till I've heard Bing Crosby sing white christmas (it has to be Bing!)

I love the First Nowell. - does anyone remember the Box of Delights on children's TV? I loved that version.
Also like We Three kings. Went to the local school bands Christmas concert and a trio of violin, viola and cello played an arrangement that made my hair stand on end. A lovely, lovely sound. Alison |
