not very good at this but have been told it should look as good on the back of the work as it does at the front

lol, trust me, it does not look anywhere as good on the back as it does on the front. How could it with all the start and end of the threads. They have to go
somewhere. I can`t see how you could make it look the same on both sides.

A good way to start so that you don't have any ends to weave in is to use a single strand of floss, fold it in half, thread the ends into your needle.
Then come up from the back of the material and hold onto the loop, go back through the material to make your first stitch (\), and take your needle through the
loop at the back. Hope that makes sense! When you come to the end of your floss, simply thread it through 3 or so stiches at the back of your work. Its a
lovely hobby, I've lost complete weekends in the past simply doing cross stitch - its almost as addictive as cardmaking .....

Yeah, i know that, i`ve worked that one out for myself, i realised that when the stitch kept coming through and i was getting no where. Good idea that and it
saves having lots of knots. You can never make the back look kike the front though, anyway, who wats to look at the back
