I felt it too. We're in Peterborough. My girls (12 and 2) and my husband slept through it. Bit scarey, wasn't sure what to expect when we all got up
the morning..

Yes I woke up and thought my husband was fitting and he woke up thinking I was having a turn due to the CFS/ME. When we knew it wasn't each other and
because we were tired we went back to sleep. Hubby woke me up on his way out and told me he'd seen on the news it was an earthquake and we'd felt it
here in Bedfordshire. Hope everyone is OK.

It woke us up at approx 1 am as the whole house was shaking, including the furniture, and the street lights were shaking. Was really scary and seemed to go on
for ages but was only 10secs on the news. We don't seem to have any damage. We are in Stoke-on-Trent.

Felt it while watching Joanna's pretty papers DVD for inspiration last night. Having lived in California for many years I was aware of the tremor and very
surprised to hear of the magnitude this morning. I live in Herts.

Oh wow, then it really was that! I was reading in bed and both the bed and side cabinet gave a little shake, I looked to see where Baz was as I thought he must
have knocked against them as he flopped down but he wasn't anywhere near and was half sitting\lying and on the alert. I looked at the clock, just before
1am, and actually joked to myself that it must have been an earthquake!

Believe it or not we even felt a slight shake here in Belfast. It must have been scary for those of you who live close to it. I have been close to earthquakes
while in Greece (they have loads) and they don't half make you take notice.

Yes - very scarey - we are in Cambridge and sleep on the 3rd floor. Really shook us up as we didn't know at the time what it was. I couldn't get to
sleep again afterwards so am shattered today.

The whole house moved and woke us up.
We thought it was a plane in trouble as we like near an Airport. Love Dee |

I am in Leicestershire and I woke up just before la.m the wardrobes were shaking and the drawers rattling. I was petrified as I didn't know what it was,
didn't know if I was dreaming or not. Quite frightening when you are on your own, I was laying in bed creating my own earthquake and left the light on for
an hour or so. Hope everyone is ok.

I don't think it reached us here on Anglesey...I certainly never felt anything if it did.
I'm glad everyone is safe. Margaret....Anglesey. |

I was still up - I found it quite frightening. I know we have had tremors before but this one really shook the house and you could feel it go up through the
house . When the rumblings had stopped under your feet, the top of the house was still shaking. Scary stuff! I went outside, a number of people were out in our
street - the birds were going absolutely berserk and you could hear dogs and cats on the go everywhere. I won't forget that one in a hurry!
