cuttlebug dies |

Is it right that you can use these dies on the big shot. I've just been trying out the new border dies in the big shot and they have bent quite badly.
Bit improved when I put them through opposite side. Should this be happening. The plastic plates are also bending badly.

I have just done the same with my new dies and this also happened - so don`t worry - I have read somewhere that they are fine in a big shot
So i`ll await more replies with interest Suzanne Hope this doesn`t come up twice as posted when this was being moved and it didn`t come out |

Thanks Suzanne, was panicking, thought I'd destroyed them. I don't understand about being moved, it says my posting has been moved but its there but
doesn't show any replies.

Hi - I haven't got any cuttlebug dies yet but am very tempted to get some as there are some nice designs. I've read varying reports but most say they
are compatible with the big shot with the convertor plate. I've got a big shot - is the convertor plate the same as the white platform used with the thin
dies?
Will await further replies with interest too. Ros x |

Joyce are you talking about the embossing folders, or the die cuts. I know the embossing folders are absolutely fine in the BigShot, as I put mine through.
don't know about the others myself, but heard they are fine, in all the die cutting machines.

The die cuts Sue. They cut out and are really great die cuts but as the borders are 6 inches long they bend. The embossing ones are absolutely fabulous. I
think I must have bought nearly every one the have. Best embossing i've every seen.

Can't argue with that Joyce they are brilliant, knock the Fiskars texture plates into a cocked hat.

I haven't used cuttlebug dies in my Big Shot only embossing folders, with brilliant results.
Below is website address of Provocraft article about putting dies in cuttlebug wrong way round which may or may not help !!!! Gail http://www.provocraft.com/blog/index.php |

When the big shot first came out there were a lot of complaints about the plastic plates scoring and bending. One way around it is to cut down a cutting board
and use that as the cutting side.
My OH has also cut one down for me to use with the extended plastic plates for the tag along. The cuttlebug goes through much easier too as they are just a smidgeon thicker than the sizziz dies . l've had a newsletter from The craftbug which says a new big shot is coming out and lots of new sizzix dies...Dot |

Thank you sooo much Gail. Have now put note in die storage box - foam side up - lucky that didn't happen to my dies, I would have cried and cried, only
bought them this afternoon and they are really beautiful. Hope Suzanne reads this.

Sorry to sound as if im butting in..lol
the plates bend on any machine to a certain degree...its the bump of the die that makes them go like that.. the cuttlebug dies i did the same..when when i put mine back through..it straightened out ok.. i use my 2in dies now in sidekick!..using as a sizzlet /ellison thin die! steve |

Steve
Yes many dies do bend - but these bend a lot and it is quite worrying to have them to this degree - but the info in this thread is very useful Suzanne |

it is worrying..cos we crafters like to but things that last..and can be off putting too sometimes..think cuttlebug should have used a more solid metal ..
but thats my piont of veiw!! have fun with them.. steve |

Was thinking about buying Cuttlebug, but not sure now.
Any thoughts on the die cutting/embossing machines out there would be most appreciated. Which do you prefer and why? Thanks alot. Margaret xx |

i personally prefer the big-shot..it is big,strong..well made and can do what others do just as good ...
even though i have a few machines..i still prefer that one. it looks strong to use..which in some cases some dont... But as i mentioned beforehand..its really down to how comfortable the buyer is with a model..also on how much the buyer wants to spend out. steve |

Steve - yes a stronger metal would have been better - although they do appear to be quiet good - before putting them through !!!
Just hope they last Suzanne |

I have the Wizard, which I love. I often use cuttlebug embossing folders and dies with my Wizard and they don't bend at all. The plates are thicker than
the Cuttlebug ones so they don't bend at all and neither do the dies.
