Posts: 13 (17/03/2008 00:48:07) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None Just been on reading some of the verses and as I said there I am having a bit of a hard time just now. My husband is very ill and sometimes it takes me all my time to hold things together but I always think there is someone in a worse situation than myself. In the last couple of days I have heard of the passing of friends and neighbours. One very elderly, one who recently had a transplant but has died from recurring infections and another from a heart attack and in the last half hour the loss of a very young baby. Life seems very cruel at times and it is often difficult to know which way to turn. Sorry to be so depressing but I do believe in the old saying "A trouble shared is a trouble halved" Maureen

But telling someone else about your worries always lightens the load, so that I hope you are already feeling a little better. Coming back from a 'downer' takes time, so be kind to yourself and little by little things will get better for you. I am so very sorry to read that your husband is very ill. Life does seem too difficult and it is very hard to be positive. My husband had two very dangerous operation's and then when we thought our troubles were over, we lost our beautiful daughter. One doesn't know what life is going to throw at one next. When I see people a lot worse off than me it sort of gives me a good kick in the rear end, while my heart still breaks for them. My heart goes out to you and I do know how difficult it is to be cheery through your worry. Thinking and praying for you at this difficult time. (((((Hugs))))) Betty

It does help to share our worries and fears, I don't believe in bottleing things up. My hubby was recently put on the transplant list for a new liver and at the moment is back in hospital because he had a relapse last week-end. I do have support from lovely people in our church, from family and friends but sometimes we just need to voice our feelings and fears Thanks again

My husband was very ill a few years ago, doctors could not give a prognosis and he was having chemo as well as other potent drugs. He went from the man I know to a stick insect who could hardly wash himself. I had just been treated for cancer (successfully) but my friend died from the same thing and at one point while I was holding Aidan's hand while he was having chemo, my poor dog had to be put to sleep. At that point I hit rock bottom. I am not telling you this to feel sorry for me, quite the opposite. I decided that things could not get much worse and decided to take things intro my own hands. I looked up everything i could about my husbands illness and had meetings with his consultant and from this we started up a support group, now a registered charity which has members all over the world. I pushed and bullied my husband into moving and doing things and never gave up, he did get better and astonishingly came off all drugs. What I am trying to say is, turn the negative into a positive, get out there and do something and keep a positive attitude, trust me it can help!
