I think the answer is 2 - the drivers legs, as it doesn't say that the girls are actually on the bus.

I make it 42. That's if they ARE on the bus.
7 girls have 14 legs each has a bag with a big cat, 28 legs 28 + 14 = 42. It just says each big cat has 7 little cats, doesn't say they are on the bus at all. Now I shall have to go back and re-read....and probably edit!! 
ok now I've re -read it, I make it 210, thought it was 1 big cat in each bag. so 7 girls have 14 legs. and 49 cats have 196 legs, so 196 + 14 = 210........................this is probably wrong too, they probably missed the bus, so there wouildn't be any!!

I've sat down and worked it out again and now come to 10,990. I wonder what answer I'll come up with next time.

I had a rethink and now also come up with 10990 - forgot to add the number of legs of the big cats in my first workings out. Well that's what my brain is
telling me this time anyway.

Is it 14 as it asked how many legs are present, all the cats legs are in the bags?
Julie x hubby thinks its 10,990 hope hes not right all I will never hear the last of it.
