The input goes upto 240 volts which is our power supply.
So I have saved myself an extra £20-£30.

As Linny says, I have now discovered, since getting the machine home that you only need a travel adapter to use it in our plugs.

Cricut buyin abroad | ||

Hello I have looked at buying cricut expression abroad as cheaper but worried as have heard no cover with gurantee if something goes wrong with it. What does
everyone who has bought one from States think? Also is adapter need for UK easy to get hold of and how much does it cost?

I bought my Cricut from the US for £85 plus £15 shipping. I did not pay any import duties. My husband fitted a lead to it so that it works with our electric
supply, apparently it is called a figure 8 lead which is in fact is the same as any old lead that you have for a radio or cassette player. This works a treat
and avoids the need for an adaptor. I love my Cricut and use it most days. I have just today received two more cartridges from the US for £54 all in, with
again no extra charges.

Linda I wonder if you would mind sending me the addy in US where you are getting the cartridges from?
Are they the new ones in the new packages or still in the boxes? Yvonne |

Although I dont have a cuttlebug, I have a wizard and very pleased with it, I think it depends on how much cards you make? Since the cricut costs a lot.!!!! I
would go for the Cuttlebug any day, the dies are more affordable!(I use the embossing folders with my wizard)
Myself am a person that thinks that the less buttons and electricity involved, the longer it will last, and I dont make that much cards either.... Eva xx |

I'm very tempted by the Cricut but I already have a Cuttlebug and Craft Robo, both of which I'd love. I have to say I'd get both (don't hit
me). You can get a Cuttlebug for between £55-£60, which isn't a great deal more than a Cricut cartridge (when bought in this country at least). So one
month/quarter instead of getting a new cartridge buy the Cuttlebug, and then use it for embossing and the Cricut for cutting.

I'm currently saving up for a Circut Expressions. I am hoping to become a Primary School teacher in the future so feel that it will be great for this and
my scrapbooking.
The great thing about the Expressions machine over the Original is that you can put a whole 12x12 paper on to the cutting mat, and thats not all the machine comes with a large mat that this also!!! The Expressions comes with two cartridges Plantin (Font) and a Shape Cartridge (cannot remember the name) where as the Original (Small) machine comes with just the George and Basic Shapes. Hope this helps

Sorry for got to add, I really don't think it will be to long before a enbossing tip is made for the cricut as so many people have been asking about it.
The machine really is crying out for one.

That'd be great, I hope they do bring out an embossing tip for the Cricut. I have only had mine for a few weeks and I love it! I've just ordered a
cuttlebug, just for the embossing folders but if the cricut could emboss from the cartridges it would be FAB!!
