I would appreciate any comments re the above printer as the colours are not printing true. I have done all the cleaning, aligned the head etc, had a print
off to show me how to choose the best settings which isn't very good to work with and choose setting.
I am getting a nice shade or purple when it should be red, and blue where it should be green on the leaves. Must admit that I am using Canon Compatible
Cartridges and I know that Cleaning Cartridges are available but only for black. Where am I going wrong? 
I have tried several times to clean, align and choose pattern which best
matches but it's still not right.
Sorry to go on but I am getting frustrated , so if anyone can suggest what to do next, I would appreciate your comments

Sounds like the yellow is not printing .This is the colour I find always runs out first.Ronnie

Are they individual cartridges Christine? If the yellow hasn't run out, I would suggest you try using the genuine cartridges and see if it's any
better. You will never get true colour with compatibles, but it shouldn't be this bad.

The colours are all in the one cartridge, so I have one Black Cartridge and one Colour Cartridge, but I suppose the yellow could be blocked, thanks Ronnie for

Paula, the cartridges are as above, I keep thinking that I should Original Ones but foolishly I bought 10 of both as the site I had them from had good reports on compatibles, thanks for your comments Christine

I would agree with the suggestion about the Yellow not working.
Also for what its worth I had a Canon Pixma before my present HP all in one! Like you I used the Canon Compatables but found after a while I was getting problems with the printing, No amount of cleaning realigning etc helped and eventually it was so bad I gave up and got my HP. I am convinced it was the compatables causing the problem. Hp cartridges arent cheap but I wont get compatables--even if I could find any for my model! Hope you can solve your problem Margaret |

Christine I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is the compatibles too as the same thing happened with our HP printer but as I had used compatibles
previously without a problem I assumed it was the very old printer and actually bought a new Canon Pixma MP160 only to find the old HP works with genuine HP
cartridges!!!!

the problem with compatable cartrages is the chip they don't have all the information on them. I bought proper cannon cartrages and then just took the
empty ones to be refilled so that they have all the information still coded on to the chip

Personally, I wouldnt use compatibles in anything. If you find an especially bad one, they have a habit of gumming up the nozzles. You may be able to clear any
blockage by using the canon originals in it. BUT this may require several deep-clean cycles and as such will use a quantity of ink.

Thankyou all for your comments, I have e-mailed where I bought the compatibles from asking if they can help and hoping that they might take back my unused ones
and replace with originals as I am prepared to pay any difference in price. Waiting to hear from them, guess I was trying to save money but in the end I
realise it isn't worth it.

Same thing happened to me when i used the compatable inks with my canon,soon as i changed to the canon inks it printed out true
to color...hope this helps
