They then send you a form pre fileld in with your details. You just sign it and send it back with the picture. The envelope is then marked so they know it is an electronic application and it sped through the system. Still wouldn't help if the dont accept you photo - but definately saves paying at the post office. Sarah xxx

Posts: 1958 (11/04/2008 17:31:04) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I am surprised that the booths don't have a sign up about glasses - (but I suppose it might take time to get round them all) when we renewed ours last year we had the photos done at a Klic photoshop and they told us about taking the glasses off. We then had to go to the Passport office to do our application as time was short, and when we asked about it they said it was something to do with the iris recognition - but I would have thought that contact lenses would mess that up and they don't make you take those out. I suppose that another (and more reasonable) explanation might be that different glasses can make you look so very different that it is easier to do the photos without glasses and then just ask you to take them off if they have any doubts, after all not many people keep the same frames for 10 years.
