I am thinking of getting a new printer to do boarderless printing on A4 paper and also to be able to print some of joanna cd on to photo paper. But i am not sure what to go for as i have looked at reviews on the website, but no body talks about the crafts point a view for what we want to do with it. Can anybody help please Thankyou chris xxxxxxxxxxx

Posts: 101 (11/04/2008 20:09:14) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I've just bought an Epson R285 which prints borderless but also will print onto quite thick card, 255 gsm or more, which is great as my last printer would not do either of these things. So far I am well impressed with it and it was only $49.99 from PC World. I also got the extra CISS continuous ink system which does away with cartridges, which for the amount of printing I do will save loads.

Posts: 3874 (12/04/2008 09:19:49) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have a Canon i560 which was brilliant and prints borderless, until I bought a laptop with Vista and now it won't print the correct colours. I also have a Brother 540dc scanner/printer/photocopier attached to a desktop puter in my craft room so methinks will have to swap them over as the desktop is XP. Just make sure the one you buy is compatible with your operating system. I also have a lexmark930c but can't buy compatible inks for it and have to refil it with a syringe which I find a bit messy. They al print on thick card too. Jan x

I think it's great so easy to use and you can put your memory card in the front of the printer so you don't even have to turn the computer on. Sonja x

Very interested in the Epson R285 as my Epson Photo will not take card although it is super in every other respect. I have an HP 5940 and can't get the page layout to work properly so the images are all drawn out. Moira

Posts: 101 (12/04/2008 12:26:09) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	The Epson website quotes up to 255 gsm, but my friend has an Epson R285 and swears it will take 300 gsm easily, although I havn't tried that yet. I have noticed however that on the printing preferences there is a tick box to select for thick card which is something I have not seen before on any of my printers. Moira - my cat is the spitting image of yours!!! - she is called Lucy the Wimp - scared of everything but so sweet.
