I've wondered about getting a cricut but trying one out wouldn't help my decission. I know it's easy to use (have seen demo at my local craft shop)
but I just don't make enough cards to justify the expense. If I had problems using a knife or scissors it would be a good idea, or if I couldn't cut
mats straight. You really need to work out what you would actually use it for (be honest with yourself) and then make a choice as to which machine will do the
things you want. It's tempting to impulse buy and they are often the purchases we love the most, or the ones we regret having bought.
Good luck with making your decission. Jan

Myself and my SIL bought ours at our local Craft Central and they gave us a demonstration and let us try the machine without any pressure to buy. I also don't make cards to sell but I do use it a lot. Still have only the one cartridge but you can do a lot with it. Avril. |

I have one and love it. I have 6 cartridges but use the George one most. I love it to bits too and can't stop playing with it!
It's the best thing I have ever bought. It's so QUICK! Wouldn't be without it. I don't sell that many cards but started scrap booking and use it a lot. Jan x |

I have a Cricut and love it, I would say that if you don't do scrap booking then I would not bother with the expressions as it does the same as the Cricut.
I have three cartridges and use them all the same but the Basics one is the most used.
I would say if you can afford it then get it, many hours of fun |

I had the basic Cricut for my 50th and though I haven't used it loads yet, but would still recommend it. I have 3 cartridges and share one. The Paper
dolls one has absolutely loads of stuff on, much more than is shown on the box. The George one has basic shapes on that you can cut 1" to 5.5" so I
use the rounded square one for easy matting and layering for example. Also saves a fortune on alphabets as you just cut the letters you want and aren't
stuck with loads of q's, z's etc. I got a load of self-adhesive card which makes it even easier.

I have a Cricut Expression machine.
I went for this one because someone mentioned that you can have restrictions to the size of things you can cut on the first Cricut, e.g. with apertures etc. The mat on the original machine can sometimes be too small for your project. I haven't used the machine a great deal since I bought it, but when I do I think it's brilliant. It's so easy and quick to use. Brilliant for alphabets and numbers on your cards. I used it recently on a card for my dad and it my life a whole lot easier. I will give the matting and layering a go with it, I always struggle to cut things like that straight, even with a trimmer. I say purchase one, if you don't get on with it, you can always sell it on or send it back. You'll be quite surprised as to when it comes in handy, always when you least expect it. Once you've used it a couple of times you'll be hooked and will be looking for things to do with it, a great thing to have in reserve when all else fails. Do let us know if you get one or not Andrea xx |

I've got a cricut expression too and I love it. I'm pleased I invested in it as its so easy to use and quick to set up. I think its worth the extra for
the larger machine cos you're not limited by size
