I bought what I thought was a quickie glue pen and had great problems with it - then realised I had bought a lookalike called a stickie glue pen! Now have the
genuine article and have found it fine.

Quickie glue pens are really quite good the trick seems to be apply it and wait until it
starts to go transparent thats when it is really tacky and sticks well although I don't allow it to dry too much to apply glitter as it does dry fairly
quick.

I keep an acrylic block handy and put it down on top of whatever I am sticking. No problem.
I do this with photoglue as well. Just a thought, but I had my first one so long I forgot it should have been blue along its length and didn't realize it was almost empty.

I use them for the fine detail glitter work, and embellishing stuff, but never use them for sticking paper or card to a card or for scrapbboking I'm
afraid, I don't find them strong enough......failing that I wouldn't be without them for the 'fine work' they are a godsend!

Use mine all the time for glittering and the odd little "extra" stick when needed. Good for vellum too if there are dark areas you can put glue on -
let it go transparent first and you can't see it at all.#
