Backing paper do folk just use ordinary printing paper? I have bought a couple of card making kits but love to make them from scratch, have bought a few CD of Joannes which are lovely. Thanks Les

i'd say give the paper time to set after printing, i use ordinary printer paper for backing paper.
mount my topper on a little mirri card (can get that from joanna, the silk is fab) then use the backing paper maybe torn or wrapped round the card front, have a look at the samples in ppl's images through their profiles it'll give you some great ideas. happy crafting, welocme to the forum, chell x |

It does depend on the quality of the photo paper. You can buy inexpensive ones that work perfectly and ones that don't. I would suggest going on the
website as the photo paper on there is not only very affordable but works perfectly. Also print with photo quality and leave it for a while to dry properly.

I think this comes from the fact that there are two types of photo papers - one is instant dry and the other isn't - I really hate the not instant dry as
it increases my naughty words vocabulary by the minute - I always seem to smudge it and can't be bothered to wait for ages for it to dry
have a go at the £2.99 packs we sell on the website - and if you don't like it - then I am always happy to do a full refund - I think it's just the best - fast drying and brilliant both the satin and the gloss smiles joanna |

Welcome Les. Well you have it from the BOSS - patience is a virtue, though not one usually found with crafters!! I have not had any smudging with photo paper
but I do leave it to dry for a while and Joanna's phto papers are really affordable and very good.

Thanks for all your replies I ordered some photo paper yesterday from Joanna along with more mirra card, have had a lovely time looking at the Cd gallery as I
bought the fashion boutique Cd and have got some lovely ideas but not sure whether mine will turn out as fantastic as you guys. Great site this!!

unlike everyone else, I only use photo paper if it's a proper photo I'm printing. I don't like shiny flowers etc, to me
they're not natural. I like to use 120gms paper for my decoupage, and 160gms for my sentiments if I print those out on the pc. They're both widely
available, best buys are very often from Tescos. HTH Jacqui......x
sorry, welcome |
