We have a rather tatty looking hanging basket from last year,
hanging by the kitchen window. One brave fuchsia has managed to survive the Winter, and we were about to take it down, empty and refill it. Hubby noticed soil
on the floor beneath, then noticed a little hole on the west side of the basket. Looking from inside the kitchen he could see fresh moss peeping out of the
hole. He later noticed a wren showing interest in this area. I heard the tiny thing singing beautifully this morning & saw it going into the hole. Hubby is
now watching it, landing first on the wisteria, then hopping nearer furtively, & going in with moss and out with bits of compost!
Looks like we have new neighbours!
Wonderful! It will be the most beautiful basket in the garden, but one we MUST
NOT WATER!!

Last year in France, we couldn't cut some long grass/weeds 3' tall for a while! There were intricate wren's nests pulling stems together and well
hidden. We had to wait until the babies had flown.
