I have Virgin Broadband and email connection and it comes free with PCGuard (which I have not downloaded as was told there may be a conflict with McAfee at the time). Now my subscription is about to end I don't know whether to go for Virgin free PCGuard or renew the McAfee any advice greatly appreciated for this computer illterate dummy.

Posts: 72 (27/04/2008 09:07:17) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	when i 1st got my pc we were recommened to mcafee by pc world there was already norton on pc but that caused us probs. & had to be removed my o/h was talking 2 some1 about mcafee & he said they are about the best but cos they are so through they can slow the pc down. haavins said that i dont actually agree but i aint a pc buff by far i'm self taught so not fast anyway. hope thats some help mandy

Posts: 37 (30/04/2008 23:50:10) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have just removed McAffie from my PC for two reasons:- 1) It wasn't doing it's job - it allowed a blaster worm and (worse !) a key tracker onto my system. It took me 48 hours continuous work to clean and repair the damage. 2) It interferes with a lot of the programmes I need to run. I am now using a compatible combination of NetIntelligance and AVG, and also run a Spybot check at frequent intervals.

Posts: 9347 (06/05/2008 16:06:41) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I i`m just about to renew my McAffe and when looking around the site I found a good deal £30 for all 10 - 1 options as the last package I had was 4 seperate ones - well there was a trail so I cancelled my membership as they renew without asking !!! - don`t like that and looked into trying the free trail - one the free trail you can also get the offer of it for free if you take up an offer - so I opt`d for the next directory - £3.75 and will get sent the McAffe for free - just becauce the companies pay for the product through the advertising Thought it worth a try as I hate paying £30 a time - shout if you can`t find the info and i`ll look into it Suzanne
