Yesterday, I was watching C&C when a craft CD was being demonstrated. The presenter commented on the card that the demonstrator had made "no one would
ever know that you'd made that yourself" (which seemed to me to imply that you could 'trick' someone into thinking it was a bought card) and
later when the demonstrator said of another card "People wouldn't believe that you'd made that" (meaning that it was so beautiful and
professional) the presenter replied "Don't tell 'em!"
The presenter showed a complete lack of understanding about the entire nature of cardmaking and craft. She obviously views it as a sort of 'cheat' that you would keep to yourself and hope that the recipient of a card would think it was shop-bought. I really think that she shouldn't be doing these kind of shows until someone explains to her that a hand crafted card is a huge compliment to the person to whom it's given and superior to a mass-produced shop-bought one.
I hope that as I have mentioned no names, this post will not be viewed as "presenter-bashing" but as a valid comment.
