The legs are stretched out and it looks horrible. I'll have to wait for Eric
to dispose of it because I couldn't touch it even with rubber gloves on and a shovel.

I've just been out to feed the fish and there's a dead frog lying beside the pond.

Hazel... Amy came in the other day to tell me that we had a dead frog in our pond... bless her she said it had drowned, anyway a couple of days later I went
down to the pond and it had gone, hubby hadnt moved it, Amy nor myself certainly didnt move it - so where froggy has gone I dont know. Perhaps he is just
relaxing

we get plenty on crutches. They hide in the long grass and play Russian roulette with the lawn mower!

Karen, he wouldn't be relaxing in our garden, we have three cats who love looking for frogs! They don't do anything with them, they just like to chase
them. They're all cowards, they run if the frogs jump.

awww, i have had this experience many a time. My dad has a pond with several frogs. Plus in the summer our front grass has dozens of frogs and any time we cut
the grass we have to check the grass thoroughly so we dont damage or kill any.

Hazel - are you sure it's dead? Frogs play dead when they are frightened by something - flat out on their backs or their fronts.......... my god caught one
ages ago and she gave up on it once it played dead - ten minutes later I went out to check it and remove it if necessary and found it hopping away down the
path!

Definitely dead!!
When Eric picked it up it was stiff. We have hundreds of them so we won't miss one but I don't like to see
anything dead. Hazel

Perhaps it was eaten by something passing through the garden, a fox maybe?

My husband has just cleaned out our pond and found our missing frog
in there at the bottom with a lovely baby one. They are so funny trying to climb out and falling back in. Two steps forward and four back. We now have a lovely clean pond with new fountain and waterfall and a wonderful new gazebo over the top to stop leaves blowing in Now all we need is the summer !!! Love Cynthia x |
