I was at Wisbech last week and saw all the beautiful samples made with the cd. Is there anybody on the forum who made the Black frame which was done with the
helping hands template. on the left hand side one of the lovely roses had been decoupaged and glazed I have tried to copy this to no avail, the petals had all
been turned and I can't see how they had been cut. I tried the varnish with diamond glaze and that looks correct. Help please on the rose and how it was
cut out it was fantastic. Pansy Potter

Hi Pansy, Joanna and Suzanne ! Just spotted this post.
I used Joanna's beautiful black tapestry card. For the decoupage I printed out about four or five of the gorgeous red roses from the ' Script Roses section of the Floral Fantasy CD. It is not a step-by-step decoupage so I section one off with the ' snapshot' tool and print several the same size. Cut out one complete rose and stem as your base print, trace around it IN REVERSE with a pencil on to the wrong side of a spare piece of black tapestry card. This will provide you with the support you need to place it in the corner of the frame. Cut out fractionally bigger ( about 2 mm) all round to give a nice contrasting edge to the rose. Glue your base print to it. Then simply decide how many leaves and petals you would like to raise with decoupage. Curl each piece and attach with silicone. When the finished result was dry I gave it a coat of clear varnish to give a lovely glazed look. Yes, this is a fair amount of work but hopefully well worth it ! Good luck ! Best wishes Sonia |

Oh, thank you Sue !
Decoupage can look complicated until you break it down in to little stages. The little girl with the blossom was inspired by Joanna's beautiful Victorian Photographs that coincidentally looked just like one of the lovely blossom prints on ' Floral Fantasy'. I do not follow a pattern. Make your base print and just add dimensional gradually where you feel it looks nice. I added paper azelea blossoms from Joanna's website which was dead easy but probably gave it a more dimensional look. Pansy, if you do not have all the tools to do decoupage simply do this. Cut out neatly with a craft knife or scissors. Take a cheap piece of craft foam ( thin). Take almost anything such as a paint brush handle or even your bone folder and gently roll the pieces on the back in to the soft foam. They will spring to life. A good tip is then to put a little silicone on the pieces and put in place with tweezers ( Would not be without mine ! ) You can do it, I promise you. Best wishes Sonia |
