To emboss or not to emboss, . Can you tell the difference |

I read somewhere (I think on this forum) that you get better results when watercolouring stamped images if you stamp on watercolour paper. The thing is do you
then heat emboss it or leave it "au naturalle"

Hi Doreen,
No, you definitely do not need to heat stamping that has been done on watercolour paper. It will dry naturally. Try Versafine, it's brilliant for this. Joanna has it on her website. Experiment with Onyx Black, Sepia Brown or Smokey Gey. They are all lovely. Your other point. Watercolour paper is not necessarily ' better' but it does give you fantastic results. I love using this. Obviously different papers as with different inks give you different results. You say ' novice stamper' but I promise you, it is not difficult and the results you get will be STUNNING ! Best of luck Sonia |

well, personally, i have stamped on both watercolour card and normal card, i don't think you would be able to emboss on watercolour card because the ink
would dry too quickly. i find it best for me to stamp and emboss on normal card, and just paint away, the embossing makes raised lines, soo the paint stays
inside the image, it won't stick to the embossing.
hope that helps, but, Joanna could probably explain better jan x |

It's just as easy to emboss on watercolour paper as ordinary card - versamark never dries - so thats why its so good for embossing I rarely emboss with
anything else ever - I would say have a go at both - my choice is Versafine and don't bother to emboss as Sonia recommended but true as jan says the lines
help if you want to do neat colouring in (mine is often is bit*artistic*) so have a go and see which method you like best - but please report back we'd all
like to know!!

The one on the left is the embossed one, and it's very difficult to see the difference in "real life" never mind on a scan. Don't think
it's worth doing.

I used Versafine Joanna, I get far too messy with Stazon. Only have to look at an inkpad and I'm covered in ink. |
