Ooh clackers, I used to have them and a blooming great permanant bruise on my arm. They wouldn't be passed by health and safety nowadays.

Think you're right Tina about the clackers, my daughter had a go with my old set that my mum found. LOL she wasn't too pleased about the bruises,
different day and age.

they were on the telly this week, and you're right, we ALL had bruises. Didn't they get banned eventually?

I think clackers must have been a British toy that never made it to Australia! Never heard of them. How did they work and how did they give bruises?
I thought they were the kneeling pads you put on your knees to garden with (I have a pair in blue!). Janet |

These are Clackers Janet................... you held the middle of the string and made the ends bang together - except you usually hit your knuckles, face, wrists, etc with them instead! At least I did anyway! C xx |

am most disappointed Carol, thought there was going to be a video. I can remember hearing them before I saw them, cos we ALL had them.
Now I'd be scared to let the grandies use them, they were SUCH a painful toy!!
Sorry Jay, YOU'VE been distracted, I'm slowly but surely tearing my hair out!! I was going to do a bank Holiday one for tomorrow, but I'm STILL distracted!! |
