A BIG BIG THANK YOU | ||
|
Hello there, Just wanted to say a real BIG thanks to all you lovely crafters who've given me some great tips and advice. I'm disabled and am currently
having a bit of a bad relapse of my problem, for the mo I'm stuck in bed. So it looks like Joanna's and C & C's shopping sites, ebay, hubby
& friend's feet, not forgetting of course my purse (or hubby's) are going to be a BIT busy LoL!!! One more question if I may, I've been reading
through 'Hints & Tips' which are fab (the ones I understand anyway). How do I go about making a few of them 'My Favourites'? Thanks again
and I'll try not drive you all too nuts with even more 'calls for advice' Cheers Marie.

Hi Marie, and a very warm welcome to the forum. Never be afraid to ask as many questions as you like - someone out there will have the answers. Even
experienced crafters have problems they need help with!
Don't think I can add to what the others have said - just have fun. You can create cards out of almost anything, but beware - you will find that you will soon "need" loads of other crafting materials (hee hee!). It's a disease which we all catch! Enjoy your new hobby, and don't forget to let us know how you get on. Sue xx |

just had a thought there are some sites where you can get free down loads like decoupage templates backing papers that would start you off and keep the costs
down for you a bit will pm you and sort a few out for you this afternoon linda

Welcome to a great forum! I too watched and learned from Create and Craft shows, though had been pottering about making simple style cards for a year
previously. Am a total craft addict now and haven't seen the kitchen table for over a year (sometimes it gets cleared for Christmas, but then I can't
find a thing
). Looking forward to seeing your creations.

Hi Marie, welcome to the forum, sorry to hear you are bedded at the moment, you can get a crafters lap tray, with a light etc attached, not sure who sells
them, Ebay would be a good place to start, you have a lot of good tips from everyone, so now you just have to go with the flow, but be warned, its very
addictive, but in the nicest possible way. I started a couple of years ago with an A4 pack from a friend, since then the pack has overflowed into drawers, onto
shelves and over the dining table, but I can honestly say it's been the best time ever, as I have met loads of new friends, in person, and from the forum.
Enjoy. Luv Carol x |

I too bought a kit to start me off but it is still in the cupboard unused since I discovered Joanna's cds. With a cd you can make a complete card without
anything extra apart from card stock and mirri board. scissors or good cutting device and glue. I would also agree with the free downloads some of them are
brilliant and give lots of choice..

Hi Marie, not much to add really except if you surf the net there are sites out there that give tutorials for free. Trishxx

Hi Marie. Welcome to the forum.
I started crafting by watching Create and Craft while recovering from a bad MS relapse. I got loads of hints and tips from there and then took the plunge. I first bought double sided tape (DST), tweezers, scissors, wet glue a box a paper and card from the Papermill Shop and some sparkly bits (I can't resist sparkle!!). My Mam and Dad bought me small guillotine which was invaluable, but now I've bought a large rotary cutter as I use it so much. i don't do straight lines too well!!! Papercraft Inspirations Magazine has a couple of pages in each month telling you what tools you may need and what they are for. it can be very daunting getting usd to all the new words and terminology, but its great fun!!! As people often say and I whole heartedly agree....there are no mistakes in crafting, only happy accidents!!! I've PM'd you too. Love Jill x |

HI Marie
Welcome all i can do is say what everyone else has, the main thing is not to be affraid to have a go try things out and if you need more help just post a message or if you want to send a pm to someone and ask. I think most of us have an image gallery on our profiles if you need inspiration. I started by getting some paks of pree scord cards and some stickers I admitt some of the early efforts looked a bit ropey and some of my efforts now still do but you keep on going you will get better. have fun lb |
