We must all be the same I started with cross stitch, and progressed to cards. My stuff started with a set of two cardboard drawers and now fills one corner of
my daughters bedroom (she doesn't still live at home, only visits!) I have found myself cutting up packaging from gift sets etc, as the card may come in
useful (does sometimes). I am trying to curtail my spending though as I have a daughters wedding to pay for next year, and am trying to use things I already
have. Have felt quite pleased this weekend, as while using a topper from Cardmakers Year, for my friends birthday, I carried on and used up the backing papers
and other smaller toppers for two other cards. Nice to know we are all the same. Love Linda

i can remember moaning at the tv when card stuff was on and i wanted cross stitch i used say not cards again who in there right mind wants to make cards then
one day i was channel hoping and just happened to see someone doing decoupage by this time i could no longer cross stitch i thought i could do that i brought
it was hooked i made a big pile of cards and sharon my daughter took them to work i made £80 that was when i had the sence to use the money i made to restock
now all my money goes into my hobbie i think card making is like smoking hard to give up not that i would ever give up card making it keep me sane

i too started with cross stitch (still do it very occasionally) then moved on to bobbin lacemaking (again still do it rarely) then on to card making, crafting
(barge painting, folk art, mosaic, different things done at craft class) and now doing parchment. Thing is besides the self reproduction of essential craft
items (for all the different crafts lol) i don't seem to be able to decide which one i want to do, so in the end times flown and i've not done
anything.

I saw a parchment card in a magazine, then saw an ad in a local craft shop for lessons in parching, and that's when it all started - in 1993! Next, saw a
stamping demo and was captured by heat embossing - the rest is history!! Janet
Forgot to say, I was doing all types of needlecraft (knitting, tatting, crochet, needle lace, embroidery and a little cross stitch way before I started cards!! Learned to knit aged 3.) |
