You can just make them from two sheets of A4 card, score about 2 inches in on one sheet, wrap it around the other and stick down. To make up the short fall, stick a 2 inch strip of coordinating cardstock along the short edge, it makes a nice feature. Alternatively to make a large DL consider using a piece of 12 x 12 scrapbook card and just folding in half. However, you can still make this style of card with two sheets of A4 as well, same principle as above, but trimmed down.. To make a large square, just turn your A4 to landscape, score down using the DL scoreline on a score board, then wrap around a second piece of A4 (landscape) and trim.

I love A3 card, but do find it difficult to store, scuffed corners and all that, but perhaps that is because I am so very, very messy.
