I also stalled the car on a roundabout on the morning of my test, which un-nerved me, but I passed the test first time.
Good luck and just try your best. Its all you can do!

I went the wrong way when the driving instructor told me to turn at traffic lights. I went right, across the traffic, instead of left like he told me!!

My father taught me to drive (not recommended) and on the day of the test I had an hour practice with him in the car, and could I do anything right! I could
not reverse round a corner, nor a hill start, and Dad was getting rather short tempered to say the least (he did have a short fuse) Off we go to the test
centre to find that mine had been cancelled due to too many examiners down with flu, but we had had no notification. I was re-booked for the next day. Dad was
on night shift that week, so he only managed to pick me up from work and go straight to the test - no practice. I was driving a Humber hawk at the time, and
when the examiner asked me to turn up this particular street my heart sank. It was up a hill and a block end, so yes I did turn the car round (the car was half
the width of the road) in about five goes. Everything else went perfectly and I did pass.

When I took my test it was the same day I did a pregnancy test(my parents didn't know)! One of those you had to leave a few hours, so I couldn't see
the result of that before I took my driving test.
Passed both with flying colours!!! Sally |

So many years ago but I remember it well! I felt sick with nerves and had the grumpiest of examiners. Luckily I had a wide range of vision and for the
emergency stop I saw his newpaper coming towards the dashboard to give the signal and did the fastest and 'bestest' stop ever. Things came flying off
the seat behind and also from the rear windscreen, one of them hitting the examiner on the back of the head

I didn't pass first time and had an ex police officer, he did diagrams and everything once he told me i had failed. The funny thing is now all these years
later I still remember his words and pictures. The second attemp I was more nervous that the day I got married and was shaking like a leaf, well we had only
got a couple of minutes and I had noticed the examner had put a couple of lines on his sheet so I thought oh well I'll have to do it again but it must have
been good for me as I just relaxed thinking I wouldn't pass anyway and I think that is what got me through.
Best of luck when you do take your test and Jane fingers crossed for you next week, I hope you pass. Jenny x |

failed my first one. A bus pulled out in front of me with no signals, and I put my foot down and shot past it. He failed me for dangerous
driving! He told me that I should have let the bus hit me, which it would have done, and I had a go at him, because it was MY car, not a school one! I was
dreading getting the same examiner next time, but I didn't and passed. I was also 8 months pregnant, so perhaps he didn't want to upset
me!!

Good luck to you on Monday Jane and Chell for when you get your date. Keep us updated! I didn't take mine 'till I was forty and I am so glad I did it
although I could still do with more confidence! You realise you have more choices when you pass your test!
