I have just had one of the most wonderful emails from a crafter's husband - I'm going to keep him anonymous in case it embarrasses him - but it's too wonderful a poem to keep it just for me .... I think he is so talented and what a sweetheart, it's his wife's 68th birthday today and I think she has a real treasure.

Each birthday we get presents, things we never need,

We never get the things we want, we are all agreed.

The things we get, come from a shop, not given from the heart,

If you don't know what to get me, I'll tell you where to start.

You don't have to buy me anything, its there for all to see,

Just give me your care and love, that's all I wish for me,

Hugs and kisses aplenty, and smiles for me galore.

Give me all that you can spare, and I won't ask for more.

If there are any over, I'll save them for another day,

I'll put them in a cardboard box, and tuck them safe away.

Then when I'm feeling sad and low, I know what I will do,

I'll open up my special box, and have a hug or two.

The box is tied with ribbons, the best I have ever seen,

I know I'll find no better, my wife bought them from Joanna Sheen,

Then, when my box is empty, to dump it would be a sin.

So I'll put my box in a secret place, to keep my memories in.
