.. but I would like to vent my anger at the 'carer' who told my mum off today 'cos she got confused with a new style blister pack of meds. Mum is
88 and came out of hospital on Friday after a very traumatic 3 week episode. On the phone first thing tomorrow! Tess x

oh tess how awful.
the carer does appear to need reminding, that her if her clients didn't need the occasional help she'd be out of a job! n perhaps a reminder of why she does the job in the first place, i don't think jobs in the caring profession are about money, they definately more about vocation. hope you get satisfaction m8. chell x |

I might be wrong Tess, but I was under the impression that carers were not allowed to have anything to do with the patients medication or to administer
medication because they are not trained medically. And if so, she has no right to tell your mum off. She should have got in touch with you straight away. I
had a lot of problems when my mum was still at home with carers not turning up and all sorts. I hope your mum was not too distressed.

you are right adele, but sometimes the carers can help with the medicines if they are in blister packs, but it is only if the care agency is happy with it and
of course the client and the family.
