marc, i think spiders come in around september, especially those large ones. flies, well i just do not leave the outside door open and have nets in the
windows. not sure about the woodlice. never used electronic pest devices but seen them and i think they are for mice, not sure.
my problem has been those blessed ants. last year i had none. so this year i am on the outlook for them. i have the ant power already for them. year before i had them coming in all three rooms downstairs. i was just about pulling my hair out. june b |

Marc, i have an electronic device but living in Australia i use it for keeping possums and rodents out of the roof and it works wonders, would not be without
it but, it does not keep the spiders and i do mean spiders ha ha ha away, we have fly screens to help there, so do not think it worth your investment if that
is what u want it for, hope this has been of some help
have a great day Pauline |

Hi Marc,
Have had an electronic pest control gadget for years now and wouldnt be without it, I dont like creepy crawlies either and the gadget that I have was purchased from QVC and is Pestcontro and I remember it was pricey at the time, have seen similar ones in a large hardware store but dont go for the cheapy ones ie. pack of four about £20 and if you have a house you will probably need two of the ones that sell for about £25 each, costly but worth every penny. and mine does keep the spiders at bay (fingers crossed) most of the time and wasnt troubled by ants when I lived on the ground floor, have now risen up in the world. Creepy crawlies, especially spiders, don't like Citronella. You can wash surfaces and walls down with a dilute solution, but I like to burn Citronella
candles in Spring and Summer, particularly in the kitchen, and find that that works quite well

spiders hate peppermint. I have a small gap at the side of my fireplace where those horrible BIGGIES tend to lurk. I put a few spots of
peppermint oil onto a piece of cotton wool and push it into the gap.
I wouldn't argue with Lavvie, but all my Citronella candles say NO TO BE LIT INDOORS. Mypphobia is moths,(and the biggie spiders ) not too bad with the tiny ones, but those big ones aarrgghh!! Jacqui x |

I use Dethlac, it's a spray that you can use on any non absorbent surface, indoors and out, it dries to a hard, clear film which isn't noticeable and
you can wash the surface, it lasts for months. I use it round the outside of all my doors, and windows, plus I use it in the garden if I should see any ants,
etc. It isn't expensive, I get mine in the chemist. It is only for crawling insects though, not flying ones.

Don't kill too many spiders as they keep other 'nasties'
out of the home. As to ants etc. I bought an 'ant repellant' from Focus (approx £4.50 for pk of 2) and they worked last year so going to renew them
again. They are a small dish like plastic which can be quite unobtrusive and put in a corner somewhere or behind furniture.
