Posts: 918 (16/05/2008 23:12:05) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None Our youngest Grandson has that chickenpox from his older sister and he is really poorly been in hospital 24 hours He is only 10 months and bless her she is only just three. they have been so ill loads of spots all and I mean all over.Any way I am feeling really guilty cos I have said I can'tgo near them I have never had it Am I a horrible Granny ?

There seems tobe alot about as my neighbour's little boy, Jack 3, and his brother , Harry 1, have also got chickenpox at the moment. Harry's started on his 1st birthday last Friday and by Sunday you couldn't see a place on his body that wasn't covered, plus the warm weather wasn't helping. They have had 3 really bad day/nights with him crying. As to whether you're a "bad grandma" or not??? Definately NO. It can be so very dangerous for adults especially if you contracted Shingles. I do hope that the littleones recover and get home soon. My three all had it over one christmas, they were aged 18months, 3 & 8, both boys were misserable for a couple of days but my daughter was so ill with it she even had spots on her eardrums and right down her throat - there wasn't any skin free of spots and we couldn't brush her LONG hair for about 10 days. She had to have antibiotics for nearly three weeks. I don't think you or your family would like to see you in that state, stay away!! You can make up the extra cuddles when the children are better. I will pray for a speedy recovery for the childre. Take care Kate x
