Mine was & still is a pink teddy bear although he doesn't have much fur left now. I've had him since I was tiny - I'm now 60 so how sad is that
! He lives in my undies drawer where he's nice & comfy. A few years ago we had a burglary & the rotten scumbags threw him across the room &
left him there while they were looking for something more valuable. Lucky they didn't realise how valuable he is - to me anyway.

well. I had an uncle - he was a family friend really and he worked for a toy company - think it was Palitoy and he got me some really gorgeous dollies. I had a
lovely tall one when you held her hand she walked and this soft cloth body one with a vinyl face hands and legs which had a pink knob on the back which you
turned and it moved its face etc - just ike a real baby - it was called Rosebud.
When I was 7 years old I came home from school to discover that ALL my dolls had been given away. Some of you who know me really well know the full story - and those of you who have seen the DVD of the interview that was never broadcast will know that it is something that even to this day that can make me sob my heart out. but on a happier note, my dad once built me a wendy house - it was the wooden crate the twin tub washing machine had arrived in. It was placed at the back of the sheds and he hammered some nails on one side - he was so proud of himself - that was his attempt at making a fitted kitchen for me to hang up my tea set. |

I loved all my books like Little Women , and I too had the Arthur Mee encyclopedia's, which I was only allowed to read after i washed my hands. I still
have them to-day and I'll be 69 in July. Hugs Rita xx

i have nothing left but i enjoyed my books especially little women and the story of 'the prince'. its was a story on a record and you had a book to
follow. if we had today i think it would be worth a fortune now.
loved my wedding doll, dolls pram and dolls house. use to play with them hours on end. i am the eldest, so i expect my younger sisters played with them and broke them in the end. love june |

Hello everyone,
My favorite toy was my Jacko the Monkey, i got him for christmas 1966 when I was 4yrs old. I think he came from Woolworth`s I loved him because he was a boy and you didn`t get girl dolls back then, and he had hands that had wire inside so he could hang onto the door knocker, and he used to knock for me every morning to come out to play....lol...he did honest!!! I`ve still got him up in the loft, he`s only got one eye and a whelk!!! He hasn`t got his original clothes anymore because the first thing i used to do when i was little is to take the dolls clothes off to see if it was a boy or a girl!!! He is now got a blue baby grow on. Carol x |
