We went for a spin to Brecon yesterday and we were lucky the rain stopped for us to have a little stroll around Had food there then back home over the Beacons. Very misty and a lot of lambs walking scaringly close to the road, so me heart was in me mouth Son went out the door last night saying he'd be back in an hour, then I received a text to say he and his mates were going to Cardiff for the evening Didn't hear him come in but his shoes are in the hall so I know he is home safe Hope everyone has a good day today. Thinking of you Jackie. It will be hard getting rid of the caravan etc but as Susan rightly said, you will always have your memories, no one can take those away from you Hugs for all in need today. OH has gone shopping, Isabel gone to dancing class, and Charlotte's friend has just arrived, they are going to order fancy dress outfits for her birthday, the theme is pirates. Just got back from having my hair cut and coloured, in readiness for a meal out tonight, to celebrate my youngest daughter Sammy's 18th birthday tomorrow. She sometimes reads the forum , so HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow sunshine! She was out last night with one of her best friends who was 18 yesterday, so my new driving skills came in handy when I picked her up in town, in the early hours. Can't belive she's 18 already! I still can't quite get my head round it all! However driving through town last night, was a bit scary. Never driven there before, took all my lessons and test in the neighbouring county, so was a bit apprehensive, but I did it! There was one really scary moment though. I pulled up at the lights behind 3 other cars, other cars behind me. Lights changed, into gear, hill start, release the clutch and started rolling backwards! Hadn't gone into gear properly, tried 3 more times same thing kept happening, then I stalled it! Was just beginning to panic a bit, but took a deep breath, put the car in neutral, started again and said a prayer when it worked.! So if you happened to be in a line of traffic, in the centre of Chesterfield at about midnight last night, behind some demented woman driver in a Metro, then please accept my apologies. Maybe I ought to start my driving blog! Jane xxx

Posts: 1627 (17/05/2008 14:34:57) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	aww m8, don't worry bout it, with a hill start i make sure there's enough 'bite' before i let handbrake off!! i won't just use brake n clutch. but it does go like that, the harder you try the worse you make it so you did the right thing taking deep breath n then having another go. i had a disasterous lesson on thur but my wed one was excellent, dunno what happened on thur but my head was empty, i do get most of it right just stupid little things wrong. only got 6 more lessons b4 test so i'm bit nervous, i have to get over that though as i have the cash to carry on if need be, so i needn't panic, it's just that i soooo wanna do it n be able to go anywhere i want not relying on poor pete who hates driving anywhere, lol. i'm sooo envious jane, but i think it's great n love hearing all about it. chell x
