I've got an Epson R300 and after the originals ran out all I ever use is compatibles and so far never had any problems. I use my prnter a lot and it would cost me a fortune if I had to use original inks.

I use compatibles and I have an epsom but you do usually get a message saying something along the lines of you are not using the correct inks do you want to
continue, so I just say yes and it seems to work. Love Nannywendy xxx

the only message i got was to say that i had no more ink in the black and magenta cartridges and they needed replacing and as the other 2 were very low i
thought it best to replace the lot nothing about incorrect cartridges and the printer does not print just sends empty pages through after chugging along as if
it was printing

My Epson also has that factory gnome and wont even allow me to look at compats. But with the gen ink I do get a really good colour match.

I've always used compatibles with both my last HP and current Epson printer. Never had any problems so far - touch wood, cross your fingers, etc.
