I've got quite a few of Joanna's CD's (which are great), but I also wanted to get a bit more involved with using graphics packages. I use PC's for work etc, so I'm not afraid of computers, but you couldn't really call me a computer whizz either! Does anyone have any recommendations of graphics packages that can be used with card making, and which don't need a year long tutorial to get to grips with :-) ? Thanks

Lots of people like Adobe Photoshop but it's beyond my little bear brain and there's also paint Shop Pro which has another keen camp of followers - but again - gives me a headache just reading the books I bought thinking I might progress a lit but I would say Publisher is easy enough not even to need much of a manual smiles Joanna

I do use Publisher for work, so I'm quite familiar with that, but I'll definitely look into the other two options. I've also had Inkscape recommended (I think mainly because it's free). I enjoyed your shows yesterday and am already itching to go to the next NEC craft show (roll on November). Thanks Russ

It was about £10 on Amazon if I remember right. Even my OH can use it and he is defo NOT computer literate lol! Jan x

ANYWAY, publisher is excellent, and I use it all the time. I've had PSP since I first got the pc, but it's only been these last few weeks, that I am actually learning to use it. A few of the forum ladies are doing a PSP course online, and I think a few of us are becoming addicted, seeing what we can achieve. Photo shop, I also have, but I think it's more about manipulating photos than playing with graphics, but I don't really know. If you go to www.corel.com ......................or put in Corel in your search bar, you can get a 30 day free trial, as you can with most graphic packages. I would definitely recommend psp, but everyone likes what they're used to. Download a couple, and have a play. Jacqui x HTH

I have used this software for a number of years now and would not be without it for my card making. The thing is to download it and play with it to familirise yourself with all that the software can do. You can import your own pictures into it ,alter the colours of them use Joannas cd ( Ie using the snapshot facilty that is in Joannas cds ) draw, make and draw shapes and much more. Linda

Thank you for filling me in ........ and, I already have a version of Publisher on this pc so may take a look .......... mind you, not sure what I need it for!! x Oh, on checking, it seems to be 2002, could be a bit out of date then!

Posts: 225 (19/05/2008 17:31:56) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I use photoshop and although it takes a few tries to get used to it once youve played with it I think its brilliant- you can do so much with it. i use it to draw and design cards the lot and each time i use it i'm still learning and oftenwonder how i did something and spend the rest of the day trying to do it again!!! But personally I would recomend it. SJ
