Once, in a big supermarket, I watched a woman stuffing things in a bag under her jacket and she was in front of me in the queue. She didn't (of course) pay for the goods she'd hidden and I pointed it out to the checkout girl. All she said was I should mind my own business and there was nothing she could do about it.
I then went to the customer services and asked to see the manager (a 12 year old!) who thanked me for my concern but said shoplifting was built in to the price of goods. I could still see the woman in the car park, but no-one at all was interested. Wonder if it is still like that. Janet

delivering money to a bank & the guard hadn't realized that he'd dropped it!!
I had to stand & guard it until he came out
