As the free version is finishing end of week, I have purchased
version 8 Inernet Security software with 2 year subscription to replace the free Virus Edition Software. Does this mean that in 2 years I will have to pay for
subscriptions every year after that. I am a bit confused by this.
There is so many anti virus softwares on the market but I liked the AVG free version so I have gone for new version but Internet Security.
I wonder why they have stopped the free version ?

I too have this one. Have you actually bought the update yet? Just been on website and you can a free 8.00 edition. Going to get my brother to sort it out for me on Saturday. Janet M |

They haven't stopped the free version! They just made it a bit complicated to find. I've got it on my computer now AVG Free 8.0 but I must admit it
took some searching as it did initially look as if you had to buy AVG. The one you pay for does have some extra security features but you can
get them free from other sources.

For some reason AVG do give you the impression that your free version is running out and you have to buy the software (well I say for some reason but there is an obvious reason!) but I've got a techie friend who recommended the File Hippo site around a year ago when it happened to me. It's quite a handy site for anti spyware and firewall progs too. |

I have downloaded Avast and it's very scary when it starts sending alarm bells ringing if it thinks its found something! My mum sent me a picture this
morning and the alarms were going asking did I want to open it or delete! Apart from that it seems very good. Woke me up anyway lol!

Well I have bought AVG 8 Thought that the extra safe gaurd would be helpfull with all the scares if after the 2 year subrscription I could download the free
software.

I just googled frre AVG8 and it came up with a page with table showing three versions (list what each has), scroll to bottom of table and click on free version
- left hand column. This takes you to download.

I've had version 7 on my laptop for a while but when they wanted to upgrade to version 8 I decided to go with Zone alarm which comes with my Pipex
broadband. The extra key for my laptop only cost £5.88. The thing is, when I took AVG off my laptop just went so much faster. I hadn't realised just how
much it had slowed the system down. (Not as bad as Norton though).

We downloaded the 8-00 version of AVG had to take it off it made the computer so slow in connecting to the internet and also websites,after taking it off it
has been a lot quicker,we had virgin pC guard as a package but put the avg on as a extra ,so we have just got the PC guard now
