I have asked them to be here .... I NEED my leaky boiler replaced (heck it's only 32 years old) BUT AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am so stressed out this week as I only have a few days left to prepare for this weekend and then straight on from there to an intensive photo shoot for the big book I am working on and I need total peace - quiet and no upsets !!!!!!!!!!!! so the house reeks of gas - they are nice chaps chatting and laughing with each other (loudly!!) and removing the flue and boilers and tanks is just a little bit noisy (sarcasm here) I asked them here - it would be rude to go out and bop them on the nose ... must be my mantra today ... sigh .... from a very stressed Joanna!

We also have a plumber coming this afternoon to take a radiator off and put a new one on. It is on the landing , a very big one BUT we have new carpets , all up stairs along the landing and in the bedrooms, BEIGE!!! And I know the old rad will be full of black muck, dreading it . Why didn't it leak before we had the carpets? Love Jen.

I had the nicest two men converting from bath to large walk in shower for Ian, but still, I was happy to see them leaving.

Can you get out for an hour to de-stress - sometimes it's enough to bring things back together and your time can be more constructive even with the upheaval. Good luck, Donna X

Then they unwind the extension reel and trail the flex to the job only to plug in their radio and you have radio 1 blasting across the neighbourhood blasting out everyones eardrums AND I'm far too old to appreciate radio 1 now. At least you have builders bum to look at to take your mind off the noise

All is quiet - I have finally been left to my own devices. OH has gone to visit Steve - first time since I had my heart attack - he just wouldn't leave me just in case. Youngest has returned to college today after his AS exams although he still has one on Thursday. So it's just me the dog and 2 cats, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and not a workman in sight.....Bliss.... Hugs Marion W

Or you could catch a flight and come to sunny Austria and sit with me, as I am now on crutches and off my feet completely after my accident last week, I can see the long week stretching out. I have had a flood in my kitchen, unbeknown to me the washing machine has been leaking for ages, seeping under the flooring and into the hallway damaging the laminate wood floor. So the whole lot has to come up and the insurance company are now involved. I am dreading having to arrange everything and having to wait in for workmen who never come etc etc..................so glad I can get into my craft room and chill out....

I can sympathize its my pet hate - workmen in my house, I'm having some docorating done soon, I just like them to get the job done and go. A lovely bunch of flowers can do a lot to relax the scenses eh! How about getting some classical music going, I find it really relaxing, and makes me concentrate better.
