Posts: 393 (12/06/2008 19:47:14) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None Hi I started this conversation on another forum and we all agreed that something needs to be done I have 4 different trimmers etc . None of them I would say are excellent as they dont do everything i want, surely one company could do a trimmer / papercutter that does everything . How many trimmers etc do you have ? is there a common fault with them that means you bought a different one ? And who wants to make money and design one that solves a papercrafters problems Cheers

I also have a Carl cutter in which I keep a deckle edged blade, (I hate changing blades) and that is brilliant too. I don't use any other fancy blades. Sheila W.

Posts: 5618 (12/06/2008 20:44:07) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I have a x-cut guillotine which is about the straightest cut I can get - a huge Fiskars rotary trimmer with about 9 different blades which is brilliant for measuring but gives me a wonky cut - the bit that holds the blades has split - maybe that's why. Also have an old basic trimmer which also cuts wonky............ would love a guillotine like the one at work which has mm measurements, paper sizes, a dead straight cut and a nice large working area. But that one costs a fortune! C xx

I have had the Carl C and C one that I got when it was a POTD and it was well worth the investment. I would be lost without it. Sue

I think I'm somehow moving the paper/card when using cutters with some glossy stuff since I always manage to get the last bit larger and end up trimming with knife & ruler. I don't want to think of the blades I get through on the fiskars model, but find the groove great for scoring cards for folding! Eunicex

I agree, though, that you have to put some wellie behind the rotary cutter side of it to get a clean cut, but it does at least clamp the paper/card down well so that I can use both hands to cut it. The Fiskars cutters don't always cut a straight line and the blades soon need replacing.
